Storage & Handling

Viterra's storage network consists of 117 grain sites, including:

  • 106 grain receival sites in South Australia
  • 3 grain receival sites in Victoria
  • 8 export terminals in South Australia

Following our investment in additional storage capacity during the 2010/11 South Australian harvest, Viterra's storage network now has a total capacity of over 10 million tonnes. Individual country sites range in capacity from less than 10,000 tonnes to more than 440,000 tonnes.

Viterra's eight port terminals are located at Port Adelaide, Port Lincoln, Port Pirie, Thevenard, Wallaroo, Ardrossan, Outer Harbor and Port Giles.

We have an agreement with rail provider Genesse and Wyoming Australia to utilise rail networks throughout South Australia and Victoria to transport grain to port cost-effectively.

Viterra utilises the strength of our supply chain to optimise the movement of grain through our storage and handling network, enabling us to operate more efficiently in low-receival years and maximise opportunities in normal to above-average years for the benefit of grower customers.
