Joe White Maltings

Joe White Maltings has a long and distinguished history.

From humble beginnings during the Gold Rush at Ballarat in the 1850s, the development of Joe White followed the growth of Australia, with malting operations opening and expanding in Melbourne and Ballarat.

Further plants were commissioned or acquired in Devonport, Adelaide, Ballarat, Perth, Brisbane and Tamworth.

Joe White Maltings Pty Ltd was acquired by AusBulk in 2002 and merged with Adelaide Malting Company.

ABB Grain became the parent company of Joe White Maltings following a merger with AusBulk in 2004.

In September 2009, ABB Grain was purchased by Viterra.
